Mural culture in DC began as a way to replace ille Mural culture in DC began as a way to replace illegal graffiti with artistic works and revitalize sites with imagery that represents the rich history of communities. We love how the city’s murals celebrate all of the diverse cultures and backgrounds that make up this one-of-a-kind city.   Today in honor of #asianamericanpacificislanderheritagemonth we’re gazing at the works of two artists who have been making their mark in the District in wonderful ways. Cita Sadeli, also known as MISS CHELOVE, and Shani Shih are both DC-based artists that use their beautiful, vibrant works to uplift communities and showcase their multicultural backgrounds. Or, if you’re us, it’s an opportunity to take a trip down memory lane and reminisce about your own artistic origins! We thought it would be cool to see how it all began for some of the Seaberry team members so here’s a little time capsule filled with our creative beginnings:  1. Monica: A kindergarten masterpiece  2. Toren: His first professional camera: a 1957 Nikon SP rangefinder. 3. Adya: A second grade painting of a kitchen 4. Emily: An early college assignment to design a beautiful recipe book.  5. Andrew: One of his first videos — a fun Lego stop motion test 6. Megan: One of the college drawings that motivated her to pursue a creative career. 7. Nicolette: a high-school self portrait so beloved by her mother that it is on permanent display in their home.

 That quote is our little nugget of inspiration for this month. We love the idea that as creatives we are on a constant search to find the marvelous especially when that quest has us explore new technologies.

We worked closely with them to help bring their vision for a magical evening to life.  Our team designed their print invitation and program as well as this video invitation.
